for over five years, all day i dream has been where deep and emotive meet house music. propelled by a community of forward thinking artists drawn around the scion of master curator and sunset/sunrise set specialist, lee burridge. all day i dream formally welcomes lost desert to the label with the release of lingala, a two-track collaborative effort with burridge himself, that also features junior on vocals. lost desert was picked out of obscurity after burridge discovered his music while trekking in a remote area of a long lost land. a fast forged friendship inevitably lead to the studio, and lingala’s the enrapturing sophomore result. the duo’s first project together debuted on lee’s night time imprint, get weird, earlier this year to widespread support. lingala, is a beautifully composed ten-minute sonic journey. built around a mystical lead vocal sung by newcomer junior in his native linagles the raw emotion slowly builds in intensity over propulsive basslines and deep melodic grooves . gorje hewek & izhevski’s interpretation of lingala is a markedly different affair. focussing on musical layers rather than the vocal the duo’s signature spacey atmospheres and minimal rhythmic percussion add extra strings creating uplifting moments that contrast the original’s mood.

reissue of this 20y old timeless classic with a new basic soul unit rmx on the b-side!almost two years ago we reissued dj boom kinda kickin with an extra efdemin remix on curle-p06. because y all loved it so much, we decided to reissue two more matthew herbert deep house goodies. after the very well received linkwood remix of see you on monday it now time for one of herbert s biggest records deeper, from the iconic part two ep, 20 years old but still timeless! on remix duties is basic soul unit, who saw his album released on dekmantel end of last year. we knew he was good, but his remix exceeded each and any of our expectations.

after debuting their label with the return of headhunter, the trusik team returns with their second vinyl release from the ever-illusive ruffcut faculty member tremble. tremble has quietly made his presence known with reggae influenced tunes that are simultaneously roughly hewn, yet meticulous detailed in sound design. for trsk002, tremble gives us “too much terror”, which with all the daily attacks on civilians across the nations of the world, seems prescient. what starts out as sound system inspired roller slowly morphs into a technoid fusion of dread sub weight and dub techno chord flourishes. on the flipside, tremble simmers the tempo down to the 130ish range with “bwoy”. dancehall indebted sub detonations output cut vicious shapes while filtered rasta portents gradually build into a technoid climax. two killer sides for the concerning djs! for trsk002, trusik has incorporated artist ben ladieu’s immaculate pen and ink drawing into the overall aesthetic of the release. ladieu’s work is often dense, multi-layered and full of little hidden details that draw comparisons to 80’s diy punk flyers and zeke clough’s contributions to seminal dubstep label skull disco and woe to the septic heart.

one of stockholm’s best-kept secrets is now out of the closet. with no information on the artist, what we get is two rumbling techno tracks with a cause. “grounded theory” builds on a ground loop layered with a bellish sequence, percussion and stabby hits. “furious dub” is a dubby take, made up by filtered chords and a bassline with an offbeat lfo. both tracks are aimed to make you move. it’s your body, you decide!

yes, we re back at it again with more eddie amador. after the success of house music and rise, we decided to diversify and go for a double a sided remix package with two distinctly different remixers. so please welcome ardalan and cj jeff to the yoshitoshi family! given ardalans propensity for booty basslines and infectious grooves, psycho x girlfriend seemed like the appropriate choice for the dirtybird affiliate. he flipped the tracked on its head by pumping it full of sub 100 hz frequencies, mental sound effects, and even a pinch of acid. the remix again shows this young gun s talent for creating bona fide bangers that keep the spirit of house alive. greek house don cj jeff took on 6am, the groovy and oft-overlooked 2006 wee hours anthem from amador. his remix bears a massive 808 kick that floors the mix (no pun intended) into overdrive. his simple, catchy melodies capture the classic yoshitoshi vibe beautifully.

“music madness” is a brilliant disco track from beckie bell’s rare album, in need of… after highlighting it in an extended version, on the compilation french disco boogie sounds (2015), favorite recordings decided to reissue this killer song on a proper 12 inch single. the package including the original album version and two hot remixes by tom noble and voilaaa.

as part of our 10 years anniversary mukatsuku is proud to release the holy grail instrumental long version co produced by tommy stewart of “brotherson” from atlanta usa resident ojeda penn.
there were two versions of the album “happiness” on the ife independent label. they looked almost identical but the first version contained the now rarer elongated jazz fused instrumental version of “brotherson” and then a few months later they recut the album with a much shorter version adding strings and vocals.
the former version is now being sold up to £500 so this 12” is a welcome release to the reissue market. according to mr penn this is the first time either version has been reissued officially and mukatsuku after many years of discussion is glad to finally be in a position to finally put out both versions on one phat 12”.
